    Description

1948 California Gold Discovery Medal, Bronze/Gold Plated, 1848-1948 Gold Discovery. Medals issued at request of California Chamber of Commerce. They are octagonal in shape and made in 2 varieties; bronze and bronze with gold plating. The total issue was 3,000-4,000 for both types with 1,000 of them being gold-plated. Most of the bronze pieces have now been gold-plated according to So-Called Dollar book written by Harold Hibler and Charles Happen.
This coin, to us, appears to be a MS-67, has no blemishes and is the perfect coin for a connoisseur.
