Description
Offered here is an outstanding larger sized stone carving, a
BALD EAGLE
with its wings spread created by talented Peruvian artists.  This beautiful bird is carved from Black & White
ONYX
.  The beak is from a black speckled yellow jasper or serpentine.  The base is "gold" specked pyrite. The legs are metal wire.  The bird's eyes are inlaid yellow with black centers and are very realistic looking.  There is a tag on the bottom that says "Made in Peru".

SIZE:
This carving measures just about 4&3/4" high to the wing tips.  The wing spread is just over 5".  It is about 4" from tip of beak to end of tail.  All measurements are approximate.
PLEASE NOTE:
The photos are
highly magnified
so be sure to look at the photos with the quarter, or the hand, or the ruler to get an idea of the scale.
CONDITION:
NEW, There are a few stray white spots on the black stone that may be fuzz, dust or natural white inclusions in the onyx.  There are also some white spots on both the body and beak that are light reflections.
ATTRIBUTES:
In Native American Indian tradition, each animal/bird is believed to have inherent powers or qualities that may aid the owner of a fetish carved in the image of that animal.
The Eagle is the creator and teacher and represents loyalty, integrity, and has a spiritual connection to the great divine.
